Lash extensions: price, how long they last, and aftercare

By the team at The Nail Story, Bawadiya Kalan, Bhopal · Updated

Lash extensions are the easiest way to wake up looking done. They’re also the beauty service people have the most questions about: will they hurt, how long will they last, will they ruin my own lashes? Here are honest answers, with our prices.

The short answer: lash extensions at The Nail Story cost ₹3,000 to ₹4,500 for a full set, with refills from ₹1,500 and removal for ₹800. A set lasts about four weeks as your natural lashes shed, so most people book a refill every two to four weeks. Applied one extension per natural lash and removed professionally, they don’t harm your own lashes.

Lash service Price at The Nail Story
Lash extensions (full set) ₹3,000–4,500
Lash refill from ₹1,500
Lash extension removal ₹800

What are lash extensions?

Lash extensions are fine synthetic lashes attached, one by one, to your natural lashes with a special adhesive. They aren’t strip lashes and they aren’t glued to your eyelid. Each extension sits on a single natural lash, just above the skin, so your lashes can still grow and shed normally.

Sets at our studio are applied by C. Lalrinchhani, our lash and microblading expert.

Classic, volume or hybrid?

Style What it is The look
Classic One extension on each natural lash Natural, like your lashes with mascara
Volume A light fan of several very fine extensions on each natural lash Fuller, softer, more dramatic
Hybrid A mix of classic and volume Textured, in between the two

Within each style, your artist can shape the set into different looks, such as natural, doll eye (longest in the middle, for an open, round look), cat eye (longest at the outer corners, for a lifted look) or wispy (mixed lengths for a fluttery, textured finish). This is called lash mapping, and it’s done to suit your eye shape.

How long do lash extensions last?

Your natural lashes grow and shed in a cycle, and losing a few every day is normal. Each extension falls out with the natural lash it’s attached to. That means a set doesn’t fall off all at once; it thins out gradually.

Dermatology guidance puts a set at about four weeks, with refills every two to four weeks as natural lashes shed. (MDedge Dermatology) A refill fills in the gaps so your set stays full. If you leave it much longer, there may be too few extensions left to refill and you’ll need a new full set.

Do lash extensions damage your lashes?

Done properly, no. Damage usually comes from three things:

  • Extensions that are too heavy for your natural lashes, which can make them shed early.
  • Extensions glued across two lashes, which pulls as the lashes grow at different speeds.
  • Pulling or picking them off, which pulls out natural lashes with them.

That’s why each extension should be isolated onto one lash, why your artist chooses the weight and length for your lashes, and why removal should be done professionally (₹800).

Aftercare: the do’s and don’ts

Do:

  • Keep your lashes dry for the first day.
  • Brush them gently every morning with a clean spoolie.
  • Wash your lash line gently with an oil-free cleanser.
  • Sleep on your back or side if you can, to avoid crushing them.
  • Book your refill on time.

Don’t:

  • Use oil-based makeup removers or creams near your eyes. Oil can loosen the adhesive.
  • Wear mascara on the extensions.
  • Use an eyelash curler.
  • Rub your eyes, pick, or pull at the lashes.

Lash lift vs lash extensions

A lash lift curls and lifts your own lashes from the root, like a long-lasting curl. It adds no length, so it’s best if your natural lashes are already long. Lash extensions add length, fullness and shape. We do both: ask the studio for the lash lift price when you book.

Is it safe for everyone?

Most people can wear lash extensions, but tell your artist before the appointment if you have sensitive eyes, an eye infection, allergies, or a condition affecting your eyelids. If your eyes become red, swollen or itchy after a set, contact the studio and see a doctor.

Quick answers

How much do lash extensions cost at The Nail Story?

Full sets are ₹3,000 to ₹4,500 depending on the style. Refills start at ₹1,500 and lash extension removal is ₹800.

How long do lash extensions last?

Each extension falls out with the natural lash it is attached to, so a set thins gradually. Dermatology guidance puts a set at about four weeks, with refills every two to four weeks.

Do lash extensions damage your natural lashes?

Not when each extension is attached to a single natural lash, the set is not too heavy, and the extensions are removed professionally. Pulling or picking them off can pull out natural lashes.

What is the difference between a lash lift and lash extensions?

A lash lift curls and lifts your own lashes, so it suits people with naturally long lashes. Lash extensions add length and fullness with fine synthetic lashes. The studio does both; ask for the lash lift price when you book.

Can I wear mascara with lash extensions?

Avoid mascara on the extensions. It clumps them and the removers you need afterwards can loosen the glue.
