Bridal nail art ideas: 8 real sets and what they cost

By the team at The Nail Story, Bawadiya Kalan, Bhopal · Updated

Your nails will be in almost every close-up of your wedding: the ring, the mehndi, the varmala, your hands on the lehenga. That’s why we plan bridal sets around the outfit, not the other way round. Here are eight ideas from real sets done at our studio, with what each one costs from our price list.

The short answer: pick a base that will last through the wedding week (gel extensions ₹2,500 or acrylic ₹2,800), then choose one idea that ties your nails to your outfit and jewellery. Book a consultation a few weeks before, and have the set done one to two days before your first function.

1. Nude with a shimmer French for mehndi hands

When your hands are covered in mehndi, a nude base keeps the focus on the design and lets the deep stain glow around it. A fine shimmer French tip adds just enough sparkle for the ring photos.

Cost: gel extensions ₹2,500 + nail art from ₹50.

2. Wine cat-eye

Deep wine cat-eye has a band of light that moves as your hands move, so it looks alive in photos and on video. It pairs beautifully with maroon and red lehengas.

Cost: gel extensions ₹2,500 + cat-eye on all ten nails ₹1,000 = ₹3,500.

3. Wine and gold swirls

For a traditional red or maroon outfit with gold jewellery, wine with hand-painted gold swirls picks up the zari and the jewellery together. It’s one of our favourite festive sets.

Cost: acrylic extensions ₹2,800 + nail art from ₹50. Your artist confirms the total once the design is set.

4. Pink French with gold accents

A French tip in soft pink, finished with small gold details, is classic and pretty with pastel outfits. It also suits brides who want something they can wear long after the wedding.

5. White French with gold line art

Fine gold lines over a white French look like jewellery. It’s a good pick if your outfit is busy and you want your nails to feel elegant rather than loud.

6. Red-tipped chrome French

A red tip under a glazed chrome finish gives you a traditional colour with a modern shine. It catches the light at the pheras and the reception alike.

7. Wine French with a print accent

A deep wine French tip on a pink base, with one or two accent nails in a wine animal print, is a playful way to wear a traditional colour. It works for the sangeet and the reception.

Making a bridal set last

  • Choose a sealed base. Gel or acrylic extensions hold up through mehndi, haldi and the wedding week far better than regular polish.
  • Plan the timing. Get your set done one to two days before your first function, after your mehndi plans are fixed.
  • Wear gloves for haldi if you can, and dry your hands well afterwards.
  • If anything chips, message us. We repair chips free of charge.

Read our bridal nails timeline for the full plan from consultation to haldi, see more on the bridal nails page, or book your consultation.

Quick answers

What nail colour is best for a bride?

Match your nails to your main outfit and jewellery rather than a trend. Wine, red and gold suit traditional red and maroon outfits, while nude, pink and white French suit pastel lehengas and gold or diamond jewellery.

Will bridal nails stay nice through mehndi and haldi?

Gel and acrylic sets are sealed, so they hold up well. One of our Google reviewers wrote that her set had no chips and every stone in place a month later, even after haldi. If a nail does chip, we fix it free.

How much does bridal nail art cost in Bhopal?

There is no fixed bridal package at The Nail Story. A set is priced from the menu, for example gel extensions (₹2,500) plus chrome on all ten fingers (₹800) comes to ₹3,300.

When should I get my bridal nails done?

Usually one to two days before your first function. Book a consultation a few weeks earlier to settle the design.
